I don't feel very comfortable with NPC's, really. It'll only reduce the level of interaction between UMMA players and SE players, since people can be confident that they can always make a "safe" post depicting them blowing away faceless mooks. Plus, it looks like this mission would be better done stealthily (or, rather, as stealthily as a doctor, a wizard, and a janitor can be) rather than a full-on assault on the facility. 

Meta-Ridley and his crew attack the UMMA fleet in orbit, while Medic and his team take advantage of the UMMA's distraction to sneak into the facility. It's foolproof!

They are in the resident evil world. Stealth may not always work against Lickers for instance. It's safe to assume that BOW's found in there could easily go predator mode and screw over any attempts of stealth.
