I think it's entirely possible that this was in fact mistaken for an arena now that I look at it. I used to spend time in arena's and essentially what you do is make 10 characters, make them all almost direct copies of each other. That way if one dies, you still have 9 copies of that same character to fight other people with. Then it becomes a competition of who can make the most characters.

Unraveller, the character that shot yours wasn't exactly a normal person. therefore, their sense of a traumatic experience may be incredibly different from your character's. If an insane person did that, I'm pretty sure they would have started laughing while they were running away.
