Renee snapped back to reality as soon as she heard another voice address her. She jumped lightly from being startled, and she couldn't help but be slightly embarrassed. She smiled at the girl and answered the girl with a smile, finding a little difficult to speak, "Oh, y-yes..." What was she supposed to say next? She wasn't good with talking casually to others.
She blurted out, "The situation escalated quickly for the first chapter, but that does make a very good hook!" She wanted punch herself in the face for saying something so stupid, but she didn't show or say anything of that sort in front of the girl. Renee figured that the girl probably thinks of her as a weirdo now...
