Plot armor? I'm not sure you're thinking what I'm thinking... but what I'm thinking, yes, plot armor. Actually, that works for two countermeasures I have. So yes, and yes, and probably no. But it might also be another yes.

xD. Eventually I'll be able to think of weaker (LOTS WEAKER) monsters, that will have more obvious weaknesses. Our characters can't see any of them yet, because they're not uber-trained superheros yet. They're the unexpected heros that trip and flatten the monster- oh f- did I just give it away?
