Good luck man. Self-determination is messy, and I know that sounds trite, but I really do wish people well in trying to see to it that free and open government is a reality -- we're all in that boat together, worldwide. I'm not sure if the well-wishes of a citizen in the USA count for much, owing to the CIA and all being overly active in that region with dictator installation, But you have it anyway. The suicide of a presidential supporter in the crowd seems aimed at creating fear in your ranks as well as an attempt to smear you and justify a response from the authorities ("for your own safety" is a popular bullshit line, I've noticed.) .

 As a piece of practical advice, watch out for infiltrators pulling shit to discredit you guys -- if someone is advocating something drastic and extreme, you need to consider if they might be trying to set you up. We saw some of that here in Occupy Wall Street and have a history of it with COINTELPRO and other similar operations against civil rights groups and protests from the 1960's on.

And the term you're looking for might be a 'purge' in the spirit of the Cultural Revolution or the French Terror, or what happened in Iran, where the governments got rid of their own former allies. The Bolshevik Revolution in 1917 in Russia also involved that; they overthrew a government they were a part of and established a more hardline government. The Soviet Union had that happen in 1991 against Mikhail Gorbachev as well, but it failed.
