She creates a katana of ice and stabs him in the throat. 

As Karl charges him Joe side steps, trips him, and puts his foot on his chest and says,"This old doesn't like your new."

With Joe's foot on his chest Karl spins knocking Joe down again. He stands up and yells,"Hey Boss Man time for running." He turns and leaves the way he came.
