Yeah, well like I stated, I'm not looking to exactly follow the impacts of history, but make it a fictional story. That way we can have more of an open interpretation to the war instead of having to experience and become acquainted with everything that happened. For example, all these units you just mentioned, I've never heard of. I prefer being able to implement my own ideas in order to prevent any confusion. 

But I mean, sure, there's no reason why we can't have divisions or units. Doesn't exactly have to be the 90th Infantry or 4th Armored Division, but it can be one we just make up. But yeah, I prefer to not follow a historical story line.
