A preview of the Codex that will serve as information for those unknowledgeable about the Fate and/or Madoka universe. Feel free to add anything I've missed, or suggest anything that I should deduct from this lengthy writing.

Edit: I've decided to display only the information about the RP's changes to the lore fans of both Fate and Madoka franchise would need to know. The roles for the Church, the Mage's Association, as well as Kirei Kotomine in the story are rather weak as of now, but I might come up with better uses for them in the future. Feel free to drop suggestions until then.

[u][b]The Holy Grail[/b][/u]
Kyubey has created a fake Holy Grail that doesn’t serve any purpose other than as a “MacGuffin” the Masters and Servants would pursue throughout every Holy Grail War.

[u][b]Servants[/b][/u]
Through the actions of Kirei Kotomine, it is now a commonly accepted practice among magi to summon Servants from other realities, Servants who would either be considered fictional or just non-existent altogether within the Fate universe. This is due to the fact that many ‘Fictional Servants’ as they were called possess powers beyond imagination that transcend the abilities of existing heroes as well as the limited mythologies of ancient history. Science fiction heroes with the power to destroy an entire galaxy at a whim can now be summoned, thanks to the assistance of Kyubey, who has traveled across the realities forming contracts with these unique individuals to become Heroic Spirits.

Unfortunately, Heroic Spirits are no longer summoned as mere copies. Kyubey has utilised using Incubator alien tech a Holy Grail powerful enough to summon the actual bodies of the Heroic Spirits, enslaving them as Servants for all eternity as they are resummoned with each Holy Grail War. To ensure their loyalty, Kyubey wipes out their memories each time they are defeated in the Wars.

Magical Girls who were turned into Servants by Kyubey, particularly those originating from Kyubey’s reality, won’t receive such a treatment, as their memories are retained with each summoning. Kyubey also has a nasty streak of pairing up Magical Girl Servants with abusive Masters, thus earning it the title, “Space Pimp”.

[u][b]The Holy Church and the Mage’s Association[/b][/u]
As of Kyubey and Kotomine’s takeover of the Wars, both the Church and the Mage’s Association have been closed down and are now past relics of a forgotten era, having been wiped out by the vast technology of both the Incubators and Koyemshi. A faux version of both the Church and the Association remains active, however, as a front for the more curious parties.

[u][b]Kirei Kotomine[/b][/u]
Before Kirei was ‘killed’, he had formed a contract with Kyubey such that he would transform into a Heroic Spirit after his death. He has been observing the newly formed Holy Grail Wars throughout the centuries as a lingering spirit powered by Kyubey’s technology. Instead of participating in the Wars, however, he chose to remain a dutiful observer… for now.

After being cursed with human emotions by its enslaver, Homura Akemi, and in turn granted freedom by Koyemshi, its pursuit in life is no longer the ending of entropy, but the enslavement and torture of Magical Girls for all eternity.

Due to Homura Akemi’s actions, Kyubey has now turned Magical Girls into Servants of the Holy Grail War, retaining their painful memories every time they are summoned into a new war.

Homura’s actions in cursing Kyubey with emotions cost her greatly when Kyubey decided to seek its revenge. Homura’s current fate is unknown, but needless to say, she has been properly dealt with by Kyubey.

[u][b]Koyemshi[/b][/u]
Originally human, he was turned into a floating fuzzball by the mysterious entities known as the “Masterminds”. In his reality, battle royales not unlike the Holy Grail Wars were held throughout the galaxy, using giant robots instead of historical/mythological figures. Most recently, he granted Kyubey the power to traverse between reality, as well as other technologies that helped created the fake Holy Grail, more out of amusement rather than any grand purpose.
