Well I feel it'd bring more mystical and spiritual things, and I'm taking inspiration from Avatar: The Last Airbender.

EDIT: Other than that it gives my character A LOT of room to grow and further master his magic. Because if he grows close to anyone or something, he WILL wish to progress further.
