Okay I can remove the ice point, but keep the ability to possibly make it hotter or colder, right? 
I can work with this. 
And possibly encounter a magic or other slayer of some sort to gain the additional ice properties (Maybe?) in some future point in time.

Well I wasn't necessarily comparing the abilities so much as the concept itself. But I get what you're saying and have no choice but to agree as I do believe this to be the case in a majority of arguments.
