Alot of my characters are formed off the top of my head or inspired by other characters in books, movies, anime, whatever.  Most of the time I just think of their appearance and their personality before I start fleshing out their backstories and whatnot, and before I started role-playing, they were mostly characters for short mangas I drew.

And yeah I recycle quite a bit of mine too, just tweak a few things here and there.  I still have all my character sheets saved in a folder XD

I also made other characters inspired by other medias such as [url=http://i.imgur.com/AuY6bry.png]Kanon[/url] and [url=http://i.imgur.com/X1lvb1e.jpg]Xeneth.[/url]

Basically, I know where you're coming from. I try my best giving hand-drawn appearances to characters that have existed long enough in my little roster. It's fun to keep the old characters updated now and then. xD
