The two main areas right now are the town and the forest.

In town, a group of our characters are together, so you could have your character see a group of people and walk over to them if you like.

Or if you want to go to the forest first, you could join the people there as they head toward the town. Ultimately, everyone will probably meet at the town anyway though.
