Kean listened to Skye’s orders half-mindedly as they weren’t anything he didn’t already understand and paid more attention to what the two were doing by the door. He could feel the displacement of air as the door hissed open and he quickly began to step towards the darkened hallway, away from the others. Even at this distance and through the helmet he could smell the stench that had been sealed away. By the time the officer had called out to the Commander, Kean was already peering into the unlit hallway unimpeded by the lack of light. His helmet automatically compensated for such conditions and the sight wasn’t pretty; fairly brutal even by his standards. The sheer number of bodies posed a problem in and of itself, but he raised his firearm as he approached the corpses to drag out the closest; intent on discovering what had killed these people. His sensors were busy scanning the hall to no readings at the moment, but it paid to be careful. He let the battle rifle hang from its sling as he unholstered his sidearm with one hand and grasped an arm with his other. With a slight twist of his body, the motion enhanced by the suit, he managed to free the corpse from the others and pull it closer to the door into the light. He turned briefly to glance at Zarubin and said, “Why not your drone?” He left it at that as he knelt down by the corpse and began to examine it for any signs as to cause of death. “Aurelias. Think you can figure anything out from this?” He called out to the team’s medic, wondering if her expertise would let her glean more information.
