For Distance Manipulation, I limit it to myself and usually don't pull bullshit unless someone else does. I mostly use it as to use for defensive and support uses. (Jamming guns and suspending projectiles/magicks) Though I do mix in offensive techniques as well if needed. 

For Vitae same applies, someone pulls bullshit, I do as well. This I usually use as to counter elemental magicks as well as disable any sort of guns or explosives. I use both Vitae and Distance as to force opponents into my combat expertise, but I do have other uses for it. Oh, and of course a source of magic.

The thing is, both "Velly" and "Rommy" mix Mana and Vitae in their magicks as to conserve their magic and make it more/less effecient as needed.
