By the way, I believe it was either Persona 1 or 2, that had the original Seven Deadly Sins. If they're related to that... It could be enemies instead, but I'm willing to bet it's allies this time.

We could really and literally be playing the bad guys, Persona 2's villain was the Joker, and it looks like your Persona in this game is called Joker. It might be a gray morality thing, like criminals, who are only criminals by law, but do good, or things like that.
