A.) It contradicts basic Buddhist law to be any kind of warrior, so nothing could be 'protected'
B.) They would not have any meat or be trying to get; they are vegetarians.
Also, I understand religion could change, but then please do not call yourself Buddhist. I personally think it would be fun to have one last anti-militaristic state, but that is just me.
