[James] Realizing what was going on with the building, James turns to call out to Damian but see's him still fighting with Grane. Growling in slight annoyance, but knowing Damian's reasons, the Paladin sets off at a jog to get out of the aquifer and back up top. "This is ridiculous. I mean, who builds an important government structure on top of a cave with an aquifer..." Stopping when he feels the impact of the two attacks, James finds himself gawking at the fissures as they climb up the walls. Sweet mother of mercy, the sheer amount of power put into those spells... Deciding sitting around staring was no good, he breaks into a sprint for the top, his armor and weapons shimmering into place as he goes. [Damian] Damian didn't hold back as Grane leaped up to meet his attack with one of his own. However, some part of him realized that he was slipping back into a kill or be killed mindset that came with being on the battlefield too long. Death's Spinning Blades was a lethal spell, one that Damian had never found a way to make non-lethal, not like most of his others and one he held reserved for true enemies as a result. When the two attacks connected, the power between them was immense, creating a crater beneath them and fracturing the ground. "As I said, Maddox didn't have the right to challenge you alone, as good as his intentions were. We fight together and when you challenge one of us, you challenge all of us." After a few seconds of the attacks locked in place, the spells rebound off of each other and Damian back flips just before landing, sliding backwards a few feet. However, the rebound didn't matter, because it was at that moment the barrier that Damian had felt slowly crumbling in his mind shattered and the blades in his hand changed, resembling the pair of cutlasses that Damian arrived to Phoenix Wing wielding, but there were some changes that had to be noted. The edge of each blade are now jagged along their length and the outer face of the knuckle guards are now sharpened to a lethal edge. Damian was sure he could blunt them as well, but instinct took over as Grane came at him with his arm pulled back. His magic circle appeared briefly to change from black to white with a red undertone, and vanished again. Rushing forward, he acted on the instincts that suddenly popped into his head as he lunged into Grane's guard with both swords. "Shatter: Ten Thousand Blades!" As the two cutlasses hit Grane's abdomen, the shatter into ten thousand various blades, from sword, to ax, to knife, to spear, though he feels inexplicably stunned by the attack. Damian leaps high and grabs a spear and comes down, striking Grane in the back, soon moving in a blur as he uses all ten thousand blades to attack. With the last one, Grane finds himself impaled upon a giant blade from the ground before being dropped like a stone. Damian, his magic energy used up from the attack and his new blades gone, fell to one knee as he adjusted to having no magic. "Not bad, Blade of Phoenix Wing, correct?" Damian looks towards the prone council member, still on edge in case he tried something. "You know, I could of beat you and your guild, but I guess you could say that I felt something when I fought your companions earlier, something genuine in your words. The only thing that I can say now is that it feels like we doomed not just us, but everyone around here." Damian looked at the collapsing aquifer and shakes his head, unable to believe, partially anyways, what he was about to say. "We can argue right and wrong another day." After another couple moments, he stands and walks over to Grane, he helps him up off the ground, slinging one of the council member's arm's over his shoulder, and heads for the door that he and James had come in. "For now, let's focus on getting out alive."
