It's also possible Mystegon died before his grandson was born. Just because their blood related, doesn't mean something bad can happen that makes them turn into doing the wrong thing.

Expanding on the first part of the quote: Mayt wasn't injured too much, just one bad punch to the gut and electrocution. Assuming fifteen minutes have passed at least, the effects of the electricity would've mostly faded. He'd be able to run if it would save his life, but he wouldn't enjoy any bit of it.

Second part: I was just working with probabilities, and he would (Obviously) live to see his son, and hopefully teach him right, but who knows? Ultimately it [i]is[/i] a house-ruling that decides.
