Aster left his family behind at his brother, Karma's, vehement request. His brother cared for him and loved him far too much for him to be used by their father as a fighter/enforcer for the Mafia. He promised to take Aster's place to placate their father and prevent him from hunting Aster down.

Aster was Karma's only light in a world full of darkness, which is why he forced him to run away.
