So I realized that I forgot to describe the lands of the Crystal Heart and now shall attempt to rectify that failing
The world of Giaion is about the same size as what you the reader know the earth to be (24,901 miles or 40,075 km) but there's where all similarities end. Giaion has one large pangea type continent simply called Giail which is Elven for The Land. Giail straddles the equator stretching north to south 9,426 miles or 15, 169 km and is 5, 268 miles. Or 8, 478 km east to west Along the equator there is a huge mountain range that stretches from sea to sea called Hal'Laf The Spine and is known to have mountains that reach heights exceeding 22,000 feet or 6,700 meters It is the height of these mountains that for centuries confined travel north and south to the valleys of three rivers that moved in serpentine twists and turns through them from a huge inland sea known as Kush (Sweet Water) The Kush is roughly egg shaped and 1,200 miles or 1,930 km northwest to southeast and 940 miles or 1512 km northeast to southwest and is 3,200 feet or 975 meters above sea level It was along the shores of the Kush that some 75,000 years ago the first Elven cities were built and who's forbidding ruins can still be found. Then the Elves abandoned their cities by the Kush some 50,000 years ago either because of a great disaster or a great war an only they know why. Some believe that it was a grand war between the Elves and the Oni that caused the formation of the Akan (Oni for Land of Sorrows) desert and not even the Oni know why it was so named. The Akan lays north of the Hal'Laf mountains coming right to the base of those gran spires and stretches like the Hal'Laf from sea to sea only relieved in two places by the north bound rivers of the Kush and is 1,500 miles or 2,400 km wide. The Naivete (Rain Snake) river one of the largest rivers of the Kush flows north and is the prime north south navigation of over 70% of all goods from the old kingdoms It's head waters are the home of the Gothwald Confederation who grand city Asteria lays on the eastern shore and on her west Roma both renowned for their manufactured goods and at one time mortal enemies. The Lennon (Jumping waters) was only made navigable 600 years ago with the completion of the Andersole locks which aid in bypassing the Gra'Bel (Steps of the Goddess) The Le'Non's shores are home to several small kingdoms that for centuries have warred among themselves for domination of the region and have only recently been at an uneasy peace To the south is the Guy'Hoon river (Dragon's Back) and it is sometimes called the Forgotten river or the Hellmouth. Called this because while it cuts the shortest course out of the mountains the Guy empties into the Neg'Lev (Trembling land) swamp which then becomes a maze of shifting channels and insect infested back waters. The Neg'Lev is as large as the Akan and dotted by Elven cities in ruin and cities said to have once belonged to the Oni but there is no real proof of the latter. North of the Akan are the Vast lands of the New World as they're called by the humans an resemble the lands of the Great Plains or Russian steps. These are the youngest and most lawless lands of human kind and they encroach on the lands of the Beastmen increasing tensions. South of the Neg'Lev are the Hidden lands where the grand cities of the elves exist an few outside of their race are welcome
