Grace's backstory isn't very dark, which is surprising because I made her.

Lisa's backstory is normal, but there are dark moments.

Free's backstory CAN'T be dark. Any misfortune that she goes through is an "adventure".

Christoph's backstory is kinda dark.

Lilly's dead, so her backstory is REALLY dark.

Actually, unlike when I usually make characters, most of the characters I have here have lead pretty happy lives besides Lilly, and her's was great while she was alive. My Fairy Tail characters actually have a MUCH darker background than anyone here.
