Brief Bio: General Onodera was born in Miyagi Prefecture in 1957. He was trouble in school often late and causing trouble. He did do well in his grades and was interested in joining the JGSDF in 1979. Onodera graduated at the top of his class in 1983. He was involved n the Hokkaido defense force army during the KAL 007 crisis, and transferred to the Western Army. In the Western Army he cooperated with the American Forces.

He was involved in the Monarch evacuation of Janjira in 1999. Years later he was in charge of the forces that went to Iraq with the Japanese Forces that went there. He was promoted to Lieutenant General in 2012 and placed in command of the CRF due to his military experience.
