Adam is also an advisor to god as well, being the first human ever made and all. Lilith is basically the first female... so the first male and female were together. Eve then came along as the second human female and brought Adam's heart to her. They didn't have a son though, but their original bodies were killed, so now their spirits jump from human host to host, trying not to get devoured by Lilith.

Thats pretty much whats happening in a nutshell. XD
