Ayame smiled and joined in on the sidetracked conversation about food, eager to slip away from the strategizing arguments that those two always seemed to be in. Tentatively taking a bit of rice, she was surprised to find that it was slightly salty. It didn't mesh well with the briny fish, but it definitely gave her some ideas for cooking.
