True, I do have a lot of interest checks. But I also have joined several role-plays. I write fast, and people tell me I also write well. I know most will fail, but I figured I would put a few out there and see which ones were liked. Also, people generally like playing as what they know. But for what its worth, I was planning on playing Japanese-Steampunk.
