It's a strategy game along the lines of Sid Meier's Civilization but fantasy-themed. A lot of the game is randomly generated when you start, so aside from the factions and planet setting there's actually not a ton of lore, since you're sort of creating it through a playthrough. Good game, though, would recommend if you like strategy games.

There's actually a whole [i]Endless[/i] series: Endless Space is more sci-fi and large scale, and spans an entire galaxy, Endless Legend is more fantasy-themed and spans only one planet (Auriga), and Dungeon of the Endless is sort of a tower-defense/RPG mashup.
