So, I might as well ask.

I was wondering if it'd be okay if Mayt's magic was a Lost Magic, passed down through his mother's family via either archive magic or through more normal ways of teaching throughout the ages; and so he knows it because his Mother can use archive magic, and so downloaded it all to him, and used it in conglomeration with other spells to that the knowledge of the basics would come to him as he reached a certain age, and the rest when it could save his life and/or he truly felt he needed it (so he wouldn't do stupid things and get himself killed or worse), or he'd know it all as he hit a certain age if he couldn't use it (Which he clearly can) so he could pass it down to his children too.
