The two bags in my hands were heavy, but reassuring as Daisy and I went back through the hallway. "How much did you find?" I asked her as we neared the doorway, the white walls slipping past us as we rushed by. I could only hope the others were safe, and if they were, that they were waiting for us. They could have gotten what they needed and bolted. We didn't know them, and they didn't know us, they had no obligations to keep.
