Wielding this Magic by invoking the Old God's name, Billy is transformed into "Captain Marvel", a super-powered form resembling Billy as an older, muscular individual draped in a garb resembling that of a superhero, and acts as Shazam's avatar on Earth. Subconsciously, Billy grants himself incredible powers through the use of ancient, raw magic, gaining extraordinary levels of supernatural strength and durability, mystically enhanced senses that allow him to perceive and sense magic, as well as unaided flight and the ability to project magic in the form of pseudo-lightning. Marvel is capable of tearing through steel and effortlessly lifting semi-trucks; shrugging off high-caliber gunfire and tremendous kinetic forces; seeing, hearing, and smelling at ranges that trump those of any creature in the animal kingdom through concentration; and moving at mach speeds within earth's atmosphere. Marvel is also ageless, requires no sustenance such as food, water, or oxygen, can magically heal from most mortal wounds (if necessary), and can wield the Lightning as a powerful weapon by calling it down and redirecting it to make contact with an opponent; this technique, however, is extremely potent, and only reserved for enemies that pose a legitimate threat to Billy/Marvel and those around him. Whilst Marvel himself is nigh-invulnerable, Billy has no superpowers whatsoever, relying solely on his wits and courage to evade injury. Furthermore, Billy must verbally call on Shazam's name in order for the Lightning to find him; otherwise, he remains mortal, and encumbered with all the weaknesses that entails. This means that anyone capable of gagging or reaching him before he utters a word can keep him in his adolescent form. Perhaps Billy's greatest weakness, however, is his youth and inexperience. While he gains a magnitude of sensory abilities and enhanced awareness, Captain Marvel is still simply Billy in a superhuman form. This leaves him vulnerable against trained and hardened adversaries who can easily take advantage of his naivete and overconfidence. Billy's adolescence is also what prevents him from fully tapping into the reserves of Shazam's power, limiting him to "generic" superpowers solely because his subconscious requests it.
