Brod, your biography doesn't really make much sense contextually. This is an RP set in one of the most prestigious schools for gatekeepers, yet your character is going there to run from gangsters? Also, a living sword? Isn't he from earth? could you make more sense of this, please. 

Dead Cruiser, your character seems overpowered for a first year, though we don't really think that nerfing him will fix the problem, given that he is a vampire. Your vampires seem like a completely antagonistic race, which means that everyone else would want them dead. Not really logical.

Also, because I just finished writing some back story, that I won't reveal for reasons that include plot twists, I will mention the limits of earth magic, which have now been set up.
The limits of Earth magic are incestuous humans with a bit of chant-based stuff, and a few magical creatures and small magic artifacts.
While I'm at it, your free to have a human that moved to Lucis, or a Lucian that moved to Earth.

Fox, a novice caster would probably be able to create small embers, and create fist-sized fires with a good amount of concentration. Lighting things on fire, throwing larger flames, spontaneous combustion, Etc. are probably all things a novice wouldn't be able to do.
