Landon nodded and threw out his empty coffee cup at a nearby trashcan and returned to hear her jokingly say that with all the work she needed to make, she might just kill herself. The two of them paused for a moment and Landon facepalmed in disbelief. "Yeah, good one, dumbass," Landon replied after she had finally said something. He then followed her outside the Dunkin' Donuts toward her dorm room. On their way, they had a little bit of small talk. Despite their warm reunion, there was still a bit of awkwardness hanging between them. Or, perhaps "awkwardness" wasn't exactly the right term for it. Tension? Hesitance? Whatever it was, it wasn't all that noticeable anyway. Finally they came to the door of Kaelyn's dorm. "I'm surprised you don't have more luggage," Landon was saying. "Girl's have so much clothes and makeup and shoes and just general junk."
