As soon as he exited the room, Runo had camouflaged himself just to be safe while he searched the nearby areas. He was sure that it might not be as useful against something that used scent or echolocation to track things, but he couldn't really imagine any of the metal beasts using a sense of smell. Echolocation might still have been a possibility, but he would just have to find a way to deal with that if it came up. 

As he walked down the hall, he would occasionally stop as he neared another room and peer in to see what was there. Most of them just contained more pods, some empty while others contained curious and confusing creatures. None seemed to be active at the moment, but it was fascinating to see. Occasionally, he would stumble across a locked door instead, but he had no way of entering to find out what lay behind them.

A bit further down the hall, there was a room that stood out from the others, and appeared to be full of various machinery. Gears of various kinds and lights of many different colors immediately caught the merman's attention, and there were some signs here and there featuring symbols that didn't make very much sense to him. Walking slowly into the room, Runo carefully looked around to see if there was any clue what any of this was for. Maybe there was at least some kind of hint even he could understand in all this?
