Well. That was unexpected. When he washed out of the entrance exam, Benjamin fully believed that that was the end of it. It would have been worse, too, because it would have been his own fault. His reluctance to use his ace up the sleeve nearly lost him his chance at being a hunter. Now, though, he had another chance. He didn't expect to get it, and he still expected to wake up any minute. Starting on the back foot or not, he had a chance. The thought was sobering, too. He knew his reputation was starting with a mark against it, and it wasn't just his reputation anymore. If he screwed up, the rest of them would pay for it, too. So he couldn't screw up. He needed to do his best, even if that meant not always having another trick up his sleeve. Truthfully, there was also the fact that he didn't really know his team all the well. Maybe Ozpin did some team building exercises after the entrance exam or something, but he'd (obviously) missed them. Ben had ended up working with them mostly by chance, and there hadn't been an excessive amount of time to talk since then. He was acutely aware of the girl, probably older than him, with a decidedly nonstandard sense of fashion walking near him. Amy. The other guy on the team, probably same age, maybe a little younger. Trad. And Sangue, the other girl who was probably older than him. And seemed to have one arm. From the look on Goodwitch's face, she wasn't happy about having a team of exam rejects walking around. He had a bad feeling they'd see that expression again, and not just on her face. Well. One more obstacle to overcome. "So, schedule says we're supposed to be in lunch. If I remember how we got to Oz's office right, that'd be down the stair, and to the left, right?"
