A few minutes of looking around the room hadn't been very fruitful for Runo. While there was a wealth of fascinating objects to explore, he still couldn't understand what any of them did or how they worked. What were all these lights for? Why were there so many different materials? What did all these symbols mean? They weren't in any language he had ever read before. 

Perhaps this room's machinery was part of the operation of the structure in general? Maybe this room was used for maintenance. But what would he do with any of this information, anyway? 

As the merman pondered this, he caught sight of a door to one side of the room and walked over to see what it was for. Surprisingly, it was actually unlocked, but it only revealed a small closet. Still, inside the closet were what appeared to be cleaning supplies, including a few rags and a push-broom. He had seen one of these a couple of times when humans cleaned off the docks, pushing the shells of the small creatures the seagulls tried to eat into the water to rest in peace.
