Name/Nickname: Lyndsey Faux Race: Faunus (Lynx) Gender: Female Age: 16 Weapons/Equipment/Armor: Mist Weavers: A pair of gloves made of a unique and incredibly resilient mesh which greatly resembles cloth. The Mist Weavers are capable of protecting Lyndsey's arms from all manner of thrusting and stabbing, even capable of protecting her from ballistic weapons although they do tend to leave bruises. In their dormant state they appear to be average fingerless gloves. When activated in response to Lyndsey's aura the gloves expand to cover her arms up to her mid-bicep, with fingers suddenly sprouting from the gloves' previously missing slots. Pitch black in color, they have a singular white channel which runs down the length of her forearm which branching off along all five of her fingers. Aside from their protection the gloves produce an infinite supply of incredibly durable wires. Each fingertip can produce multiple strands of which Lyndsey is able to control at will. The wires have sharped needle like tips, allowing them to penetrate those unfortunate enough to get in their way like a sewing needle. Commonly wielded as whips, Lyndsey is capable of dictating how sharp her wires are. From thick enough to pull an ally from harms way without slicing their skin to being able to rend metal and flesh with ease and anything in between. The gloves are capable of exerting extreme amounts of tension on the wires which allow her to quickly crush or slice anything tangled in them without the need for immense physical force. The real strength to the wires is their ability to channel Lyndsey's semblance quickly and efficiently to ranged allies, allowing her to provide assistance while standing out of harm's way. Mist Dancers: A pair of boots constructed of metal plates and the same mesh her gloves are made of. Appearing as normal boots until their activation, they extend up Lyndsey's legs to the middle of her thighs to provide protection to her legs. They too posses the white channels of their glove counterparts, but rather than producing wire they allow Lyndsey to glide across horizontal surfaces and up vertical surfaces with speed and grace via white dust. The dust is also capable of accelerating her kicks to inhuman speeds as well as 'bursting' outwards once her leg contacts with something, resulting in very powerful impacts which the boots shield her legs from the brunt of. Semblance: Healing Touch; Lyndsey's semblance, rather than being an offensive force meant to destroy her foes or augment her weapon's usage, is a supportive ability. Her aura holds intense healing properties. Originally used through direct contact Lyndsey has long since learned to channel it through her wires to increase the range of her support. Upon activating the ability her limbs, or wires in this case, become cloaked in a shining white aura. It overtakes those whom she uses it upon, the soft white light signifying they're being healed. It acts as an all purpose solution to battle related problems. Wounds are closed, the regeneration of blood is sped up to quickly replace what may have been lost, pain is killed off, toxins are purged and even broken bones can be mended, although it cares far longer than flesh wounds and generally requires the patient to remain still so the bone may heal properly. Her aura also replenishes the stamina of those who have fought to the point of feeling like a good night of sleep and a full meal. She can use it on multiple people, however it slows the progress of the healing more than if she focused on one at a time. As well as healing, Lyndsey has a second, although not as developed strength to her semblance. Upon introduction to her unique aura the production of another's aura within the body increases drastically. The sudden increase in aura often gives those effected a boost in their combat prowess, allowing easier access to the fantastic abilities that aura gifts upon them. It also has the rather interesting effect of increasing the potency of semblances. The level of in which she can 'buff' her allies is thus far not very developed, but she expects to get better at it as her years in Beacon tick by. Hobbies: Reading & Writing, Yoga, Practicing Taekwondo, Gardening, Explaining why cupcakes are superior to cookies, Cooking, Taking care of people, Watching old movies and tv shows, Kicking things Bio: A faunus by birth, Lyndsey never knew her parents. As so many of her kin were, she was almost immediately abandoned by her biological parents for reasons unknown. She had never bothered looking into who her biological parents were when she grew to the age to find out. She was lucky enough to find a home early on in her life, barely having the ability to remember the place which she called home for the first few years of her life. An aspiring engineer and his wife had contacted the establishment in search of a child after learning they could not conceive one of their own. The human couple had examined a few children before they came upon young Lyndsey, only a toddler at the time. Despite the very obvious difference in their heritages, the two were charmed by the lynx girl. She was hastily adopted and began a comfortable life with the Faux family. With her father working a position within Ferrous manufacturing and her mother running a catering business from their home, Lyndsey grew up with no lack of money in her life. While others of her race might have had rough lives in faunus packed ghettos, she lived, if not as a bit of an outcast, in a lovely human neighborhood within the city of Vale. Her encounters with racism only began when she started to near the middle of her primary education. Children whose parent's prejudices tainted them would pick on the poor girl at school for reasons her sheltered existence couldn't explain. In response to this, her father enrolled her into martial arts lessons to teach her to defend herself if things escalated. Which, of course, they did. The older she got, the more obvious it was to her why she was singled out all the time, why the bullies got worse. Lingering feelings of hatred between races, the White Fang's war against humanity and her seemingly fortunate childhood placing her in the middle of enemy territory were all to blame. Ever the idealist, she tried her hardest to dispel the stereotypes of her birth race. By becoming a model member of society, perhaps she could shed some of the harsh rumors away from her race, if only to a few people. With this in mind, Lyndsey began to aspire to become the pinnacle of the society she lived; a huntress. Those who trained to fight Grimm for a living were always seen as allies to the people, so if she managed to become a great one, then maybe she could make a difference. When her primary education came and the time to separate the mice from the lynx came, she pleaded with her parents to allow her entrance to Signal Academy. Whilst she received the 'no' so many parents gave their youngsters when the question of becoming a demon killing machine came up, she eventually managed to whittle down the resistance. Using materials he brought home from work one day, Mr. Faux helped his daughter construct her first weapons. She was shipped off to Signal weeks later after passing the entrance exam. Her time at Signal was easier than her time in regular schooling. Not only was there a higher density of faunus for her to fit into, but her semblance proved to be quite a powerful force for acceptance upon its reveal. While she never made many friends, a product of her sheltering, she managed to slide through Signal just fine. Graduating on the higher end of the grade spectrum, she was offered a spot at Beacon a few days afterwards. One she quickly accepted. Personality: Lyndsey is a rather shy girl. Perhaps as a result of having a lack of friends as a child, she isn't very good with getting out there and making them. Her lack of experience with social situations make her nervous, thus only further prevent her from getting into them. Once she does manage to get over that fear with a group of people she's rather sweet. A nurturing person by default, she generally goes out of her way to look after her friends and teammates to ensure they're doing well, more often then not neglecting herself in the process. She's also rather quirky, coming up with hair brain schemes and awkward personal games to entertain herself while she avoids the limelight. Leaving home to the airship docks, boarding with a bunch of other students, flying across Vale in order to arrive at the mythical academy of Beacon. Jittery as she may have been, the faunus had tucked herself away from the others during the flight to the cliff stationed school. Maybe making new friends could wait for a while. She had lost all of the handful she made back in Signal, none of them choosing to attend Beacon if they had received invitations at all. It was probably best. From her position among the seats, she managed to watch a girl crush a bench with a massive mace, a man drive up the ceiling on a bike and drip his lunch onto a girl and some kind of samurai dude threatening somebody with his sword. She knew attending Beacon was dangerous, but was this all really needed? When the ship docked she had carefully waited for everyone else to exit the ship before she stealthily made her way out. The poor girl had gotten lost on the campus for most of the day before the opening speech, which she just caught the end of. Luck seemed to be against her that day. The cafeteria was packed with people, which of course sent off a red flag to the faunus, who decided to wander the various shops for a while in order to carefully plan out who to associate. Before she could even pick a table in which to seat herself at, a scuffle in a near by bakery had broken out and a lobbed chair smacked the lynx girl in the head, ending her first day at Beacon with a bang. The moral of the story is, posting samples are hard and people shouldn't throw chairs.
