You misunderstand. Ever read James Dashner's (The Maze Runner guy) book "The Eye of Minds"? It's really interesting, and provides some very unique plot-twisters. 

No, he's a hacker not because he's summoning them, but because he stuck his virtual hand through the firewalls and the virtual world itself, and pulled different things from different, other 'realms' or whatever, to serve his purpose. For example, he may just reappear elsewhere every time you try to throw a fireball at him, or try to shoot him, neatly avoiding you. He may pull the armor from your very shoulders, and leave you in a pink kitty outfit for his personal amusement.

Not summoning- breaking and entering in an instant, more like.
