After Revan asked his question, Nathan closed his book with an audible 'whump' and stood up, heading to his sleeping back on the opposite side of the fire from Ivory and Merrian. Without a word, he covered himself and rolled so he was facing away from the group.

Merrian turned to face Revan, contemplating him for a moment. "I'm afraid I wouldn't know what it's like to have actual parents, since I grew up in the guild." She said, propping her head up on one arm. "I can't imagine it's that much different than it is with Kat though. Everyone in Harpy's Wing is my family, and that's always been good enough for me."
