The Aperture disaster is happening right now in Arc 2 which hasn't finished quite yet. Basically, Aperture is going to get destroyed.

Metas are the super-powere people and Alto Ganze is just good at science really. On a side note, I'm playing him, but yeah. He's just good at science.
