Though to be fair, Mashima himself said that "guns" themselves are "magic" and not an actual thing in Fiore. Bisca and Alzack use magical guns but regular guns don't exist. So it's highly likely that normal tanks are nonexistent, but the same logic can be used to support the possibility of magical tanks be accessible by certain mages.
