Reserving a spot. I'll put my character sheet here when I'm done with it. EDIT: Character Name: Lawrence "Larry" Charlton Age: 30 Appearance:
Larry during a deployment in the Middle East, two to five years ago. Exact date unknown.
Personality: Larry is a simple man. Someone tells him to shoot something, he will probably do it. However, he is certainly not a stupid man. While he once had a reputation of being a loudmouth, he is a careful planner and always thinks before doing, aside from when speaking. He usually takes a "underling" role in whatever group he is in, mostly due to habit and not due to actual stress. As for likes, he enjoys traveling, contemporary literature, war-movies, spy flicks, general cinema, walking, cooking and technology. Larry is a positive man, and as such he is open to most ideals and things, not especially disliking certain items. Regarding his outlook on life, Larry, as aforementioned, is a simple man, preferring to look towards the future, keep an eye on the present and not dwell on the past. It is in this way that he doesn't really have an opinion on the changes regarding war, simply adapting to survive in the new world. He does get quite sentimental when it comes to his old team, the Desert Wolves. History: Lawrence "Larry" Patrick-James Charlton was born to a middle-class United States west coast family when the Cold War was coming to its end. Growing up watching Vietnam War movies, spy flicks and fighter pilot films, his parents were both active duty soldiers in the Marine Corps, his father being a AV-8B Harrier II pilot and his mother as a radio operator, and thus neither spent much time at home. Larry spent most of his evenings staying up late watching aforementioned movies and shows and took an interest at a young age in war. He had a modest school life, not too bad but not very good either. He joined the United States Army shortly after graduation and after a successful basic training he was immediately deployed for the recently started War in Afghanistan. Shortly after arrival he was assigned to FOB Chapman, however, while en-route, their transport was shot down by a SAM. Fortunately for Larry, he was able to survive the crash with little injuries. However, most of his team was severely injured, leaving only two others to proceed onwards to FOB Chapman. The group soon met a problem in their journey. The two others preferred to leave the four injured in the face of advancing enemies. Larry instead decided to stay with the injured. He managed, despite only possessing limited supplies, to bring one of the four men back on his feet and save both others from blood-loss. The man who he had brought back on his feet was one First Sergeant Jeremy Thompson and this saving of his life would begin a long and close friendship between him and Larry. The pair managed to bring back both injured after a weeks journey on foot, evading Taliban troops and enduring sweltering conditions. Upon return, these actions would award both Distinguished Service Crosses and earn the team all four created together, the Desert Wolves, the Presidential Unit Citation. Jeremy Thompson, a CQC expert, decided to teach Larry the arts of hand to hand combat and the pair trained daily, creating a strong bond between the two. After a relatively short deployment in Afghanistan, the Desert Wolves were sent to Colombia to take down guerrilla forces. They were met with good success, earning them favor among the higher ups and within a year or two, the Desert Wolves became an official special forces unit, despite only being composed of four men. Their success continued until 2015 when an incident ripped the team apart. The Desert Wolves had been redeployed to Afghanistan to participate in the killing of a particularly important Taliban leader. The details are unclear, but something happened between their deployment to northern-Afghanistan and Larry's solitary return to Bagram Airfield, haggard, dirty and with a troubled expression. He has refused to reveal the details to this day, but the mission was labeled a failure and the three members of the Desert Wolves, including Larry's close friend, Jeremy Thompson, were put as MIA. Shortly after, Larry was given an honorable discharge and he became a soldier of fortune, travelling the world and fighting for the highest payer. These "adventures" continued up until the present day when he was recruited for the Blaze Unit. Special Talents or Skills: Larry isn't especially special by himself, except for being a crackshot and being proficient with many types of weapons, armor, survival techniques, CQC styles and even aircraft. A veritable jack of all trades, master of none. Personal Weapons & Equipment: -HK416 (5.56x45mm NATO) Carbine (personal favorite, used during the time of the Desert Wolves). Used with a EOTech Holographic Hybrid Sight, foregrip, laser sight and occasional suppresor. -SIG Pro SP 2022 (9x19mm Parabellum), a gift from a French GIGN operative after Larry aided them in a raid. The story goes that during the raid, Larry's own pistol jammed and he was forced to fight with a knife against a group of five gangsters. Complaining that the jammed pistol was "cheap Chinese crap", he was given the pistol by one of his allies, who had been using it ever since it entered Gendarmerie service in 2002. He continues to use it to this day. Has support for a suppressor and Picatinny rail accessories. Larry also owns a Glock G17 Gen4, though it is practically stock due to not finding much need to customize it. -KA-BAR combat knife, usually used in tandem with the SIG Pro for close quarters combat, following the principals of CQC. -SOG SEAL Pup Elite boot knife, used in situations where Larry doesn't have access to his preferred KA-BAR. -MultiCam ACU, in either Standard, Arid, Tropic, Alpine or Black patterns, depending on mission. Has a Desert Wolves insignia on the right shoulder, USA flag on the left. -Shemagh scarf, in the same color as his ACU of choice.
