If he manages to set his turrets within a Closed System, then there's no way to hack into it without a direct port. And to build a direct port outside of the base would be silly. Hell, he could have a system that closes off certain systems rapidly, causing a sectioned and nearly impenetrable digital frontier.

And in order to take apart the turrets, one would need to get close.
