[b]Weapon:[/b] [i]Book of the End:[/i] A hefty book nearly a foot and a half long, a foot wide and five inches thick, the Book of the End is stuffed full of spare sheets of paper for Slate's semblance, along with whatever cutouts or pre-folded weapons that he desires to take on his missions. Popular choices include: Paper airplanes, perfectly folded to a needle point, folded origami shurikans, and paper based cards.
[b]Specialty:[/b] His battle style revolves around doing lots of small damage strikes in vital areas, rather than one crushing blow.  The sensor suite mounted over his left eye and ear allow him pinpoint the location that his sharp blades would do the most damage. His prowess in combat is severely limited when fighting opponents with Aura, as it takes a large amount of time for his storm of light cutting attacks to breach through and begin their assault on the joints and sensory organs.
[b]Semblance:[/b] [i]Papercut[/i] - Slate can harden paper into a tough and metallic state, allowing him to make  sharp, dangerous weapons with paper craft and origami, or forming impromptu shields and armor by stacking multiple sheets of paper. 
[b]Personality:[/b] A serious man who's hobbies include brooding and acting gruff. Despite the 'dark hero' persona he attempts to constantly emulate, Slate is actually a very helpful and kind man, always the first to volunteer on rescue missions and spending his weekends helping stray animals. His harsh words are in constant conflict with his humanitarian actions, a source of much amusement to his fellow teammates, peers, and teachers. He's an artist, and sketches in his recreational time. He collects all things 'dark and mysterious' and fills his team's room with them. 
[b]Color:[/b] Slate Blue
[b]Emblem:[/b] A stylized eye with three dots set in an inverted triangle in the center.
[b]Appearance:[/b] A tall young man of seemingly Asian descent. He's exceptionally well-muscled, but lean instead of bulky. Has hard features and an intense passion and drive constantly sparking in his single visible eye. The other eye is covered by a mechanical device that wraps around the side of his head, functioning as a powerful sensor suite.
He wears a tight fitting shirt in an almost purple grey-blue, and makes use of sensible black pants and heavy boots, along with over elbow gloves that protect him from accidentally cutting himself with the constant exposure to many sided sharp objects.
[b]Bio:[/b] From a young age, Slate knew that he wanted to be a hunter like his father and mother before him. As he grew, the idea only became more solid and focused in his mind as he read stories of the great heroes the the generations before, and the comics that featured dark, brooding men who beat down Grimm with their wits and weapons. However, he lacked on basic feature that many of those dark heroes had: Slate had a perfectly happy and normal childhood, sheltered away from many of the horrifying Grimm attacks by simply growing up near the center of Vale. Uncaring in the face of this seemingly unconquerable obstacle, he took up becoming a heroic man full-time, and began to study strategy and teamwork along with his avid reading of the exploits of Hunters and Huntresses around the world, getting into Signal without much trouble. Despite a rather disappointing entry into Beacon because of lack of Grimm defeated in the testing environment, he worked hard and soon became one of the best students in his year, maintaining that position up to the present day.
He's an invaluable asset to the team, and makes it quite obvious when he finds any plans recklessly dangerous or made in the wrong state of mind. He's got a head for leadership and is quite capable of creating strategies that utilize several teams, but lacks the charisma and quick-thinking needed for rapidly changing situations. As he's not the most powerful fighter by himself, and relying primarily on disabling his opponent through sheer number of attacks, Slate relies heavily on luring his opponents into the waiting jaws of his team and disabling them so that the heavy hitters can finish them.
