As he approached the wall Cade picked up the scent of human again. It took him a little while to determine whether it was a fresh scent or just some lingering from all the human activity recently. As the wall loomed closer he approached carefully as his sensitive ears picked up the sounds of a figure struggling in the snow. The beast paused for a moment, glancing over his shoulder at Luka. The boy felt weak, his breathing was too laboured. Cade didn’t want a face to face fight. However he had a job to do and figured he could scare the intruder off. Approaching out of the darkness his growl rumbled deeply and hissed, the air fogging around his mouth from the heat. However he stopped almost instantly as he recognised the scent. It had put him off for a moment, she had been covered in the blood of the boy, but her scent was very present with Luka, so he had recognised it once he had gotten past that. Silently the creature approached her, his body language calm and passive, there was no sign of the aggression that had been present moments ago. Walking up to the girl he stopped only a few feet from her and made a soft noise, almost like a whimper as he looked to Luka on his back.
