The winner of the second contest is [b]Prince of Seraphs[/b], with Avendell Hallins, who wins PoS [b]two credits[/b].  Naturally, the runner-up is [b]TentacleLord[/b]'s Slate Jian, who receives a [b]single credit[/b] for his efforts.  Both were excellent concepts, with the obsessions clearly being the destruction of the White Fang and becoming a hero, respectively.  Next time, however, make sure that all aspects of the prompt are followed through.  Avendell, for instance, lacked any sort of headwear/gear, and I needed to look at Slate's bio to see where controlling/debilitating others comes on.

Your task is to take the provided prompt and craft a 3rd-person, non-canon short story involving your Heroes of Beacon character based around it.  The minimum length for this challenge is [b]700[/b] words.  The maximum is [b]2300[/b] words. Good luck, and have fun!

[b]Prompt:[/b] It is halfway through the first semester.  Seemingly out of nowhere, one of your character's teammates has made an attempt on your character's life.  After the failure of the initial assassination attempt, the traitor explains their motive and engages your character in combat.  How this scenario ends, which teammate betrays you, and why, is up to you.  For the purpose of motives, you can create some history that happened during the school year thus far, but the traitor's motives should remain totally hidden to your character.
