Cade, although knowing he needed help, was still wary of the human as she slowly approached him. Whilst he was doing his best to control the instincts that inside him his chest was still rumbling with a quiet growl. The problem was that he just didn’t understand what was wrong with Luka. Daemon wounds healed differently to human wounds, and often healed at a rapid rate. So he’d never experienced an infection before. Looking to the girl, at least she seemed to understand what he wanted and the daemon turned, walking swiftly towards the hole in the Wall. However once there he stopped and looked to her. He couldn’t cross. No matter how much he wanted to, the daemons still considered themselves to be in a state of peace with the humans. As such, his kinds laws forbade him from crossing. Luka was not daemon, though they treated him like kin he was not bound by the same laws as they were. Lying down he allowed the boy to slide off his back and looked to the girl again. He doubted help would willingly come to this side, so she’d have to go on without him, despite the fact that he didn’t trust her and the idea of leaving his den-mate with her worried him.
