The ground will rumble, there'll be lightning in the sky! Don't you worry, don't come undone It's just my ghost on a PT run!" August has the figure and general physique of a career military man. Standing at 5'11" and 145lbs, being mostly muscle he is a lean and fit predator. His eyes which were once a bright and inquisitive grey had dulled with age and experience. His body is not without its blemishes as his nose looks a little crooked and his body is covered with war scars as a well used mech would be covered in blast marks. On active duty when he does not have time for regular maintenance, a grizzled beard slowly takes place upon his face. Name: Trapp, August Johannes Age: 35 Gender: Male Callsign: Odin Kills: 50 Psychological Analysis:
Utilitarian in his beliefs he had discovered long ago that sometimes to do the right thing one had to be willing to cross moral boundaries only a monster would dare to cross even if his own actions sickened him. His idea of hero not being a knight in shining armor but somebody that would kill one to save ten, ten to save a hundred, a hundred to save a thousand, a thousand to save a million. He didn't know if this made him more a villain that the people just wanting sovereignty and the chance at freedom that he was fighting but he did know that if a threat was put down as quickly as possible the number of innocent lives caught up in the mess was lower and so the practically of it was putting a bullet through the head of a insurrectionist first and bothering to ask questions about the moral values of the question later did what he joined the military, to save lives. Though, through his military career especially after his last operation things changed. He had become generally more weary of the world around him. Signs of onset PTSD present with randomly shaking hands and the occasionally nightmarish fit. Sitting in his bunk at night looking up at the ceiling and stuck in some state between dreams and sleep. The Universe preventing him a solid sleep in what seemed to be ages for him. Though he would never let you see that, being always calm and collected and even sarcastic at times. Not afraid to berate and make fun of those not living up to expectations, but also willing to help them out.
History:
The life of August Johannes Trapp was what most people would consider a privileged life. Born in what basically would be stated as aristocratic gathering of homes in Germany, he never had to really fight for anything in his entire life. Everything he could ever need was given to him upon a silver platter and the newest technology at his fingertips. His father was highly influential member of the diplomatic core and his mother ran a very successful chemical manufacturing company that he had inherited through his father. As a result mansions and estates were all he knew for a very long time. At the young age of ten he was sent to a military academy as his father did and his father before him. The change was erupt and rather hard on August who had spent the first years of his education being home schooled by some of the best tutors money could afford. At first he withdrawn into a ball and could not deal with the pestering and teasing of his classmates. But after a stern talking to by his then military history teacher inspired him and soon he began to succeed again in the regimented classes. Excelling especially in combat simulations and tactics. All his teachers told his parents that their son had the potential of a great career officer and pushed him to go to the military academy at Dresden. And so at the age of eighteen upon graduation Trapp began his studies at esteemed Offizierschule des Heeres. It was here that August really learned of his innate talents. He found within one of the training rooms, a simulator for the old Sentry MAS units. Stepping into the cockpit of the simulator he found he had an affinity with piloting. Slowly but surely he learned the ropes of the simulation and not known to him eyes were drawn to his scores as they climbed up the old rankings for the machine. But skill does not come with a natural liking to a certain art and so he continued to push himself harder and harder in the simulation, paying at times more attention to his simulation scores than he did his academic grades. Going from the top ten of his class and falling rapidly it drew concern from some his teachers and his parents. Though this all changed when he met his Advanced Combat Instructor one Alexander T. Gates. Gates used to a 101st Pilot before he retired after an accident that crippled his left leg. Gates saw the potential in August and took him under his wing as a result putting him under an advanced training regime using the simulators while forcing him through verbal abuse and physical torment to keep his academic scores in the clear. Some civilians might say that Gates was too abusive, but none could argue with his results. By the time Trapp had graduated the academy he was a fine tuned machine. Gates used his contacts in the 101st to get a recruiter to meet with August and see the boy at work. Soon afterwards he found herself in the 101st training camp known affectionately by those that were pushed through it and lived to tell the tale as Hell. His father of course was opposed to it, having wanted him to take a commission as a captain stationed on some backwater world or even better as a MP back on Earth not to be fighting on the front lines. But he stuck through the training though it pushed him to his breaking point and far past it as it was designed to do at times he felt it would of been easier to give up and lay in the mud and dirt rather than run another 20 miles. But eventually it came to an end and he was one of the 45 of the original 200 to have made it out the other side a recruit in the 101st. Trapp was placed into the 2nd Mobile Armored Strike Team due to his experience with the simulator. In his time he would prove his worth as a pilot to the 101st. As his kill count rose, the 101st put him on more and more dangerous missions. His most recent combat mission had left him in shambles. He was part of a strike time that was meant to help crush a rebellion at the edge of Earth Empire space on a planet known as Lhant. A rebellion that was supposedly instigated by Coalition agents. What they did not expect was for the rebels to have been giving military grade weaponry. Caught off guard in the middle of an ambush his entire team was destroyed, along with his customized PTX-051. He barely escaped ejection and the subsequent torture at the hands of the Coalition Commandos that had started the rebellion in the first place. He was tortured and pressed for any information he had. While he was eventually rescued by a 101st extraction team, the damage was done and he was shipped back to Earth. He recovered on medical leave for three months. Eventually though they had to call him back to active duty, for a mission of the uttermost importance. He was to lead a Mobile Armored Strike Team deep in coalition space and destroy a super weapon that threatened the entire empire. It was one hell of a welcome back present. The Yggdrasil was first and foremost designed around the Aegis System. Blurring the line between the maneuverability and front line capacity of the medium MAS’s and the staying power of the Heavy MAS’s. The future intent for the system is to be placed within every MAS unit in the Coalition arsenal replacing alloy plating as the Coalition standard to allow for less stress on the system and quicker maneuverability. At the current moment though the Aegis System costs as much to develop as several Fenrir MKIIIs and until it can be refined to be used in mass produced models this dream will not come true. As it has not been fully optimized and automated in some of its maneuvering and combat responses yet, piloting by experienced C-MAD officers only is strongly encouraged. The Yggdrasil goes through several test runs in one day as the Aegis System is pushed to its limits as well as testing its overall combat effectiveness. In its intent to provide for close fire support for combat teams the Yggdrasil is currently meeting expectations and checkmarks. Systems: Aegis System: 5 WT 7 PWR - An experimental Shield unit of Coalition design, the Aegis Shield System- or Aegis, is quite simply, the most powerful shield ever built for Mobile Armor Suits. The first of its kind, the Aegis System has a rating of ‘6’ on the shield level scale, and provides its user with considerable protection to all sources of damage- repeated blows from plasma included. The Aegis Shield is capable of withstanding direct hits from plasma weapons- including smaller capital ship guns, and is the only known counter to the Einherjar System. Alongside a respectable recharge time, the Aegis System has a second function- known as the ‘Pavise System.’ When using the Pavise System, the general shields around the unit decrease substantially, but concentrate in wide planes around the "forearms" of the MAS. While only active for a short amount of time, these ‘Pavises’ are near impenetrable and resist most any oncoming force. Designers have noted that while the Pavises are meant to be a defensive measure, they are quite capable of smashing through opposing MAS’. Improved Reactor Output: +5 PWR 3 WT The Yggdrasil uses optimized reactor for much efficient capacity. Tesla Drive: 0 WT 7 PWR - Increase the MAS overall maneuverability and handling in space and allowing for it to sustain flight and survive plant fall. What was once reserved for only the best has now become a Coalition standard and as no exception in this vehicle. LX-42 Laser Rifle: 2 WT 4 PWR - Running on enhanced tri-cooled cells the LX-42 is the top of the line model when it comes to precision beam laser weaponry in the Coalition arsenal. The directed beam of energy is moderately effective against medium and large sized opponents and even deadlier against smaller ones. While the beam does not have the high damage at an instant the pulse weaponry has, the continuous blast is effective for long bouts of harassment and suppression against targets. 12.5mm-CIWS : 1 WT 0 PWR - A pair of head-mounted 12.5mm CIWS (Close In Weapon System). The CIWS is a small-caliber shell firing weapon designed to intercept incoming missiles, projectiles, and lightly armored vehicles CAD-5 CQC Plasma Initiators: 2 WT 14 PWR - This pair of plasma weaponry are stored within the legs of the MAS. They are best applied when being stabbed into the core system of an enemy MAS over and over again but slicing works as well. Active Camouflage: 3 WT 3 PWR - The Yggdrasil is also currently experimenting with the latest in experimental active camouflage technology. While in its current stage is rather power consuming and with a small operating window constant improvements are made each day as Coalition forces are hard at work optimizing the technology. SMS-223I Dragon Micro Missile System: 2 WT 1 PWR - Built into the right and left chest plates of the MAS, the Yggdrasil mounts two incendiary micro missile launchers. Each splitting into the standard four mid flight, the SMS-223I is further optimized from standard micro missile systems in its greater capacity of nine missiles in each chest unit. The missiles themselves are usually used against lighter MAS units and vehicles.
