Ruby comes from a modest family and is the third child but only girl. Because all her brothers wants to be knights, she did so too and did always 'fight' with them on the farm using sticks or wooden play sword. After a long period of trying to get into the knight-school she was still refused and had to stay home while her older brothers did get in. Her oldest brother gave her lessons in the weekend and so she learned how to fight with a sword. To prove she can be a knight too, she wants to kill the dragon that lives in the forest.
