Name: Zosime Age: 19 Appearance: She's very short by modern standards, standing only 4'11" tall, but that was on the tall end of average in her own time period. Her proportions match a taller person; she's all arms and legs, with a long neck and oval face. She has a narrow chin, hooked nose and large, black eyes. She's also completely bald, as she shaves off all the hair on her head, including her eyebrows - but if she were to grow her hair out, it would be jet black. She dresses fashionably for her time. When she woke up on the ship, she was wearing a golden-yellow tunic under a burnt orange, ankle length chiton, the latter having red ties and red maze embroidery around the hem and up each side. She wears a red leather link belt inset with yellow topaz, gold-and-topaz pendant earrings and gold cuff bracelets on both wrists. Occupation: Scribe Personality: Zosime is cool and professional. She tries to face any situation with logic, rather than emotion, and has prioritized her advancement in her chosen career over personal pursuits, like family. She can be almost harsh on a first encounter, because she is very discerning in the company she keeps and takes a long time to assess if another person lives up to her own stringent standards. She values honesty, hard work, and seriousness. She does have sense of humour, somewhere under there, but it's very dry and understated. She holds grudges. History: Zosime hails from the city of Alexandria, Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt, during the reign of Ptolemy V. She was, and is, part of the Greek minority that made up most of the ruling class of the time. Her family was affluent, but not connected to major nobility or royalty - nevertheless, her heritage afforded her extensive schooling in language, history, and philosophy. She prioritized learning languages, is fluent in Egyptian, Latin, and Aramaic in addition to her native Greek, and can write Egyptian in both the formal hieroglyphs and the cursive book scripts. Zosime realised from an early age that she wanted to be a scholar rather than a wife and mother, and although such opportunities for women were limited in her time period, she quickly seized on the simplest of ways to achieve her goal; that is, to join one of the temples. She eventually settled on the temple of Sekhmet. Her current position is as a scribe within the temple, copying out sacred text, records of rituals and other activities, and proclamations from the Pharaoh's court.
