Squad Two: The Growing Fangs Collab: Maasaki had arrived after Kaito, walking past students on their way out. Presumably, his younger ex-teammate had performed his usual disappearing shtick, and a look into the assigned classroom showed exactly that. Inside, he found six seated genin, two of which he could identify as his- Uchihas, after all, had fairly similar features, more so when they were brothers. His eyes looked over the group before fishing the paper out, glancing over it as he called: "Uchiha Yukio, Nishihara Kiyomi and..." Maasaki's always furrowing brows seemed to furrow even more, a bit of his blood seeming to have smudged the name on the paper. The last name was visible enough, but the first name- "Uchiha Hikaru." He glanced up again, repeating the names before tucking the paper away, waving at the students with a bandaged arm. "Alright kids," he said as exciteably as he could- which wasn't much, but at least the man was trying- "Follow me. Let's go on a field trip." And, without another word, started out the very same door he'd walked though. Yukio's attention focused entirely on the jounin as soon as his name was called. The young boy's eyebrows furrowed slightly, his head tilting to the side - almost as if trying to take a better look at Maasaki. The black, seemingly lifeless eyes analyzed the man briefly. He had bandages and... Was he hurt? That could only mean something: He was a veteran and Yukio was lucky for having him as a sensei! Or so at least, the young boy hoped. It didn't take him long to push himself up onto his feet, slowly pushing the chair aside so he could move freely, the boy began to make his way towards the very door his sensei had left, not without casting a glance towards his brother, Hikaru and the other team mate, Kiyomi. He gave a slight nod of his head. There was an overwhelming feeling of happiness, really; his brother was actually in his squad, this surely meant that their success was almost guaranteed in most missions. Then, there was Kiyomi - he knew her by name and face, but the two had never been close friends or even acquatainces for the matter. He simply hoped they'd get along enough to not screw up. Hikaru watched the first jounin enter steadily, but perked up when the second jounin entered. He took in his appearance, slightly bloodied, but strong. Looked like his sensei had just come back from a misison. The Uchiha grinned when he hard who his teammates would be. Not only was his brother in his squad, but Kiyomi would also work with him! That should make the team chemistry slightly more manageable, if Yukio and Kiyomi could get along, that is. Hikaru smiled at both of them, and gave his sensei a nod, then vaulted over his desk to fall in line behind Yukio and Maasaki. He wondered what his sensei's plan was, where were they going? What would he have them do for an introduction? All these thoughts ran through the boy's head as he walked out the doors of the academy, to the beginning of his journey as a ninja. Although he didn't show it he had never been more excited! Leaning on the wall silently with the most bored expression she could muster, Kiyomi contemplated the various locations of where she could throw a kunai at to kill the various people in this room without barely moving a muscle. It was something she did to pass the time. Of course she could always just land a senbon into their necks in the proper places and just kill everyone with barely moving her neck at all, but that would ruin the purpose of the game. Then the first Jounin came in. That was a simple answer though, just put one in the center of their neck. Then they left without calling her name. 'Knew I should've done it...' Then the next one came in. See this one was already hurt and it's no fun to beat down an injured dog, so they got a pass. Then they mentioned her name so they might even get on the no kill list for the future games! What solidified that though was him mentioning Hikaru. The Uchiha that had practiced with her over the past year right before she came back to the academy. Of course his little brother had to tag along but that was fine. As long as the kid actually became useful soon, there shouldn't be any problems. Kiyomi slowly got off the wall and walked down to follow the other three out of the room flicking her braid a bit since it was in her face. 'Now let the fun begin...' Bandaged hands rose to tie back slick black locks, Maasaki finishing with a low ponytail as he lead the trio out of the school. Rather than head off somewhere else, the jounin made his way towards the swing set, if only to stay out of other children's way. Hidden in the corner, with a shadow looming over it, the place was perfect for Maasaki to summon himself a long coil of rope. Pausing as he waited for his students to catch up, Maasaki offered a smile, clapping his hands together. "Right then," he said, before gesturing his hand to sign the children into raising their arms. "Please raise your arms and introduce your name. I'll be wrapping rope around you, but don't worry about that." He paused, pointing to himself before adding, "Ah, I suppose I should introduce myself as well. My name is Yamada Maasaki, and I'm a mission addict." Making his way to the tallest of the boys- the elder Uchiha, he pressumed- Maasaki started to wrap the rope around his waist. "If you guys are good, I might let you tag along. Right then- introduce yourself, young man." Hikaru raised his arms, eyes holding a questioning look. What would tying a rope around them do? Was he trying to see if they could work well together or something along those lines? He and his brother worked well in the first place, and Kiyomi was one of his best friends. "I'm Uchiha Hikaru. Am I supposed to tell you about my self or something?" Hikaru crossed his arms over his chest. "Well I'm eleven, I have the Sharingan, and I use Wind Release jutsu." The genin didn't care that his teammates heard, he was going to have to work with them anyways. And besides, both had already seen him fight. "I guess my dreams would be to become a strong ninja, obviously. And I want to help my village through these hard times, so yeah." Hikaru shrugged, he wished he had more noble or flashy aspirations. After Maasaki finished tightening the rope, he nodded at Hikaru's statements, petting his head before turning to the girl. Hikaru narrowed his eyes slightly at the hand on top of his head, but he let it go. "You're up next," he said, starting to wrap the rope around her waist, "You'll be in the middle, alright?" The dark haired Jounin messed with the knotting as he added, "Go ahead, feel free to tell me about yourself." Frowning at this 'activity' that the jounin expected them to do, Kiyomi spoke with a completely unamused tone. "My name is Kiyomi...I'd give you my family name but it's not that important so I see no point, especially since you have it on your slip of paper that people get to actually know who to pick up, if you're really that curious that is." Maasaki arched a brow, but said nothing about her attitude, continuing instead on the knot. Kiyomi sighed trying to be a little more polite and adding some motivation into her voice. "As for my dream though, I plan on becoming the top medical ninja so that I prevent those I care about from dying." She might've been a little too open with that last part...'Whatever'. Finishing the knot, Maasaki offered her a smile, raising a hand to pet her on the head as well. "Solid dream," he said, nodding before turning to the final child. "Well, you're up," he said, showing the rope before starting to tie it around his waist as well. Just as Kiyomi had said, he already had their names, but liked hearing them nonetheless. "Right then," he nodded, "Feel free to introduce yourself." Yuukio was slightly confused: The hell was the rope for? Either way, it was his turn to introduce himself after both Hikaru and Kiyomi did. Clearing his throat, the young Uchiha raised both arms and placed his hands behind his head. "Well, my name is Yukio Uchiha," He started with the obvious, offering a warm smile towards the jounin and his team mates. "I'm Hikaru's brother and my short term dream is to surpass him one day." There was indeed a determined tone in that statement, but Yukio's voice became sweeter; "Which will mean becoming really tough, because that's what my brother is!" With a slight chuckle, he finished; "On the long-term, well... I hope to one day, help all villages unite into one, without the need of war or needless suffering." How childish had that just sounded? It was nearly pathetic, but Yukio wouldn't be able to lie about these things, no matter how childish they sound. Having finished the knot, Maasaki looked down at Yuukio as he stated his dream. There was a short pause before the jounin offered a smile, ruffling the younger Uchiha's black hair. "Nice dream," he said, nodding his head, feeling pleased with the group thus far. Stepping away from his handiwork, Maasaki clapped his hands together. "Right then, you guys probably know each other well enough given your small class," he started, slowly stepping back and retying his slightly loosening bandages, "But nonetheless, let's get started with some group work, hm? "First, let's go over the rules," started the jounin, raising his left hand's pointer finger, "Rule one: Kiyomi leads. That said, no carrying her- not that she'd let you, probably- no stepping in front of her, no making decisions without her say." Maasaki moved so he stood at the rope that was loose between the kunoichi and Yuukio, raising his hands as he explained, "For example, if you come across someone standing in the middle of the rope, unless Kiyomi notices you have to keep going." "Rule number two," he continued, raising two fingers, "You can't leave the rope till we reach our destination." He reached down to pick up the rope connecting Kiyomi and Yuukio, tugging it as he added, "No cutting, unknotting, no substitutions." Letting go of the rope and letting it drop with a light thud, Maasaki lightly hopped back. "And rule number three," he offered a cheerful grin, somewhat forced and weary but overall quite enthusiastic nonetheless, "Don't lose sight of me, hm?" And with a purposeful wave, the jounin turned, starting the trip off with a light jog. Kiyomi frowned again. 'Is this guy really going to waste my time like this? Ugh..I know Hikaru can atch a running speed, but I never practiced with Yuukio...I could just throw a kunai or two to slow our sensei down and we could walk...It's not against the rules...But that'd be a bit excessive, especially if he retaliates and I'm stuck to these two...' Kiyomi sighed as their sensei began to jog off. What a pain. "How ridiculous...Let's hurry up and get this over with..." And to start Kiyomi began to walk. No not run, not jog, she walked... Hikaru watched their sensei jog off and figured that Kiyomi would attempt to sprint after him. He prematurely started moving, and tripped slightly. "Dammit Kiyomi, can you for once be predictable?" He said wryly, as he regained his footing. "How about we jog? Don't worry about Yukio and I keeping up, we've been working on speed for the past summer." The Uchiha's eyes glinted with determination, he would not fail this, no matter how easy it was, task. Yukio began to walk when Kiyomi did, his eyes intent on trying to follow her movements. Had he developed his Sharingan already, he'd easily manage to understand her movements and follow them easily, thus making this task a breeze. Sadly, he didn't - and as soon as they started moving, he had trouble with his footwork, tripping often and always having to stop to regain his footing - likely making it harder for his other team mates to move anywhere, too. Maasaki had already started to head into crowds of people, smiling at familiar faces as he passed them, summoning a few shadow clones when he could. The jounin maintained his slow and even jog, making his way deeper into the morning crowd until his black hair blended amongst the others. Hikaru did his best to catch his brother every time he stumbled or fell, but he was also trying to keep his eyes on Maasaki. As their sensei moved deeper into the crowds of people, the Uchiha had a harder time seeing him. "Dammit, we're going to lose sight of him," then he realized there was a simple solution. Activating his Sharingan, Hikaru locked onto Maasaki's chakra. "I can see him!" He exclaimed quite happily. "He's just turned left, wait, there's two more of him. The bastard made shadow clones. I can't tell which one is the real him." Kiyomi sighed seeing that Hikaru had too much confidence in his brother. They had barely even sped up and already the younger brother was struggling. 'How pitifull for an Uchiha...' Kiyomi couldn't stand Yukio sometimes, not because he was an Uchiha, but because compared to his brother, Yukio wasn't that impressive to say the least. "Fine we'll speed up...But can you at least make sure Yukio keeps up?" She said as she began to jog somewhat. "Also can you tell which one is the real one? I'd rather not be throwing kunai in the middle of the village..." This was quite irritating already, one day Kiyomi would make their sensei pay for wasting her time in such a manner. Sadly they were also entering the crowd though and this would make it even harder.. Especially if Yukio couldn't avoid these people...Oh well they'd just have to knock anyone in their way down if her team mates couldn't handle dodging them on their own. Luckily, Yukio eventually managed to understand the exercise - now, he was following both Kiyomi and Hikaru's movements with expertise, keeping up easily. Their sensei had made his way into the crowd, making it harder to keep up - until Hikaru activated his Sharingan... Which only made everything harder. Their jounin had made a damned shadow clone and Yukio was quite bothered by this fact. "Well this is bad," The boy stated, exhaling a soft sigh. "He said we could only get out of the rope when we reach our destination though, so we should just follow one. I don't believe he'd misguide us after all - that'd be a waste of time." The younger Uchiha didn't have much trouble within the crowd, especially because - well, he was following their movements and direction, so unless they screwed up, he wouldn't. At least not now. Indeed, Maasaki had made the clones only to keep an eye on the trio, the real one still very much making his way through the crowds. And speaking of crowds, this one was thick of the morning rush, people running around and shouting, several bumping shoulders with the Uchiha brothers, several more about to be entangled in the rope, their attentions having been on something else. Hikaru finally was able to lock onto the Maasaki that was still moving through the crowds, the other clones had stopped moving. Hikaru pointed in the direction where the true, moving Maasaki was heading. "Found him, the other clones must be used to see what we're doing." Then to the Uchiha's dismay, the crowd thickened, shoulders slammed into him. Hikaru wasn't the tallest person, and his squad was shorter than him. The adults seemed to ignore them. The boy became frustrated, lightly pushing people out of the way who would have tripped or became entangled in their rope. "Kiyomi, please, start running. Yukio and I can keep up and if we stay here any longer we're going to lose him." Sighing once more Kiyomi started to run, but also ran off to the side a bit closer to the buildings. She was sick of this already, and refused to deal with these petty people. Either they were going to use the roof tops, or someone was going to get hurt..."Jump in three seconds..." The only warning she gave, and honestly they ought to pick up on what she was wanting, with this crowd it was obvious, plus it would give Hikaru the view he needed. Kiyomi had to be careful though, she didn't want their new sensei putting her in charge of the squad that often so she couldn't show that she might actually have a lot of leadership potential. She didn't care for the extra work that any of that would bring, besides she's a medic, it'd be impractical...even if she was good at it... Yukio silently agreed with Hikaru on the 'start running' matter - and so she did. The boy naturally followed them, precisely combining his movements so he wouldn't hinder them or end up tripping again. After Kiyomi's warning, Yukio timed all in his head. One... Two... Three - the trio leaped into a nearby roof, now, Hikaru likely had perfect view on their sensei. Hikaru was glad for the increase in speed, and was even more impressed by Kiyomi's idea. How had he not thought of that? Then, following Kiyomi's directions, he leapt into the air gracefully. There was barely a pause from the second he landed, and the second he began moving once again. Hikaru was able to clearly see their sensei from this position. The rope tied between Kiyomi and Hikaru got snagged on a sign, pulling it taut. The group was mid jump when the rope got snagged, Hikaru had to think fast. His Sharingan allowed him to react faster than normal, and as they fell, he reached out and gripped the edge of the roof they were jumping to. Hikaru struggled with the weight of himself and two other people, but with determination in his eyes, he slowly was able to push himself onto the roof. He then gripped the rope and pulled his squad up with him. "You guys okay?" he asked, ignoring the fact that their sensei was getting further away to check on his friends. "We need to keep moving." That's all Kiyomi said, it was nice that Hikaru was trying to check on them, but sadly they didn't have the time to be sitting there. As she got up she waited very briefly for the other two then began running again. They'd have to dash along the rooftops now that they lost a little time if they wanted to make sure they kept their oh so wonderful sensei in sight. So thus the chase started once more! 'Hoefully there won't be anymore mistakes...' Panting slightly, Yukio annoyedly spoke; "This is an incredible waste of time, why aren't we training already?" It was at the word 'training' and the whiny tone that caused the second clone to disappear. It wasn't like he complained for no reason; the boy wanted to practice and get better, not waste the whole day running around tied to his brother and this Kiyomi. Maasaki nodded his head, having heard what occured on the rooftop via shadow clone, releasing several more as he continued on his way. Two of the five clones he'd sent out disappeared and transported themselves onto the roof where the three genin had gathered, one standing infront of them, another coming from above. Their arms held kunai and as soon as the tell-tale smoke that hinted of their appearance started to dissappear, the Maasaki clones let the weapons fly, aiming for the children's throats. Hikaru saw with his eyes that more clones were being created, "Watch out!" he said when two clones came for them. One in front and one in the air. The Uchiha grabbed a kunai from his pouch and took a defensive position. He almost forgot about the rope, but remembered he couldn't cut it. Hikaru ducked under the kunai coming at him from the ground and blocked the kunai form the air with his own. "Call out when you're going to move so we don't end up tripping," the boy commanded. He looked at the two clones, wondering how 3 genins were going to take on 2 jounin clones, hopefully only a minimal amount of chakra was given to them. A warning wasn't needed at all - Yukio noticed the clones as soon as they appeared and moreso, the kunai flying towards the trio right now. His eyes glanced from a side to the other, calculating what his next movements would be. Swiftly, the boy leaped, both of his hands gripping the rope, "Hold still!" He warned them, throwing his legs up while holding the rope, using the rope and his team-mate's weight to gather momentum sufficiently to spin his upper body and kick away two kunai aside by hittiing them precisely on the side - all thanks to a lot of effort being put into taijutsu training. After the move, Yukio swiftly pulled himself down and back inside the rope, having left it for mere seconds in order to produce the whole movement. Kiyomi couldn't believe how ridiculous this was. On top of being stuck attached to two others, having to follow someone, and now being attacked, this was absolutely ridiculous! To top it off Yukio decided he wanted to be a show off which honestly wasn't that impressive in her opinion. On top of that she was a ranged expert and since the kunai were so precisely thrown it was no trial to predict the trajectory of her own kunai problems and twist her body to avoid the kunai. It would've been a waste to use her own on such a petty threat. God, would this trivial matter just hurry up and end? 'Wait...we can't cut the rope... Sensei never said he couldn't... Well more specifically he was telling them not to cut the rope, but not the point, as long as they didn' cut the rope they weren't breaking the rules...' The real question was how to trick sensei into cutting the rope for them. In the mean time though they needed to keep moving. To retaliate Kiyomi quickly summoned a kunai with an explosive tag attached to it throwing it up into the air to hopefully blow up the one above them. Even if the clone deflected the kunai, or dodged it, the kunai would explode mid air to destroy the clone. 'Get away from this, bastard...' she thought to herself with a small smirk. While Yukio defended, and Kiyomi retaliated, Hikaru realized that this was just a distraction. Their sensei was getting further and further away. Hikaru thought of an idea, he hoped that his team's balance was very precise, or this idea would fail. He drew 3 kunai and threw them right at their real sensei on the ground, attached to the kunai was multiple wires, creating a makeshift cord. "Don't bother with them, the goal is to not lose sight of him. Run down the wire as fast as you can before they can cut it." He put his faith in them to follow his directions swiftly. Waiting until the kunai with the explosive tag exploded to use the smoke as cover, he jumped lightly onto his cord, there was one for each of them. "Come on," he beckoned, not wanting to pull the cord and throw them off balance. The one in the air crossed their arms, disappearing in an explosive cloud of smoke. Beside them, the clone on the roof disappeared, it's smoke mixing with the tag's. Meanwhile, the real Maasaki had busied himself with buying bento boxes before giving the store owner a wave and starting for the forest, the other three clones he had dispatched earlier on standing aside to continue watching the trio's process. 'How much more of his crap will we have to put up with?' Kiyomi was getting very irritated, this was so simple, but time consuming. It's one thing to have to do these sort of things on a mission, and it's all a likely scenario, well, other than the rope...but seriously? Kiyomis sighed as she jumped onto her designated wire. "Let's hope he gets to where ever it is we're going sooner than later..." And as she spoke they were off, providing Yukio could keep up of course. Yukio could keep up without much problem now that he had gotten the hang of it. Leaping together with his team mates on the wire, an excited 'Yoohoo' escaped him. At least this could be fun, at times. And, with a quick flash, two more of the jounin appeared behind the group, grabbing and pulling them back, the third cutting the string from behind Maasaki. "Now, now," the one over Yukio's shoulder chided. The one over Hikaru and Kiyo continued, "We can't have you sliding willy-nilly on string in a busy place like this." Placing them down on their feet beside an alleyway where few people walked around, the dopplegangers disappeared, the parting smoke creating a beautiful entrance for the real Maasaki. "Good job on keeping an eye on me, kid," he said, reaching a free hand to pet Hikaru's head, before placing a bento box in each of the children's hands. "Good job in general for following the rules. Ano... but I feel like you could've done a better job..." He nodded his head to the side at where the group had come from, revealing a panicked group gathering around where the explosion had appeared, further back being a man yelling at some kids and flailing what looked to be a broken sign, and even further back several people stooping to pick up goods that'd been knocked over in the hustle and bustle. "Let's try to be more discreet next time, hm?" he said, before petting the other children's heads, adding, "Ah, but good job. This"- he motioned at the bento boxes he'd given them- "Is your prize. Eat up, because next I'll be testing your stomachs."
