Hmm I don't know, I like the thematic idea of the UN. They could have convened in an emergency session with just a few countries (leaving out the other hundred or so) and send a quick mission. Like maybe Japan, Korea, and China or something like that. That's what I thought anyway.

EDIT: Lol, or even just Japan and the US, since there's alot of US troops in Japan. They'd just call it a 'United Nations' mission by virtue of them being the only countries contactable XD. How small the world has become.
